Atlantic City Martial Arts Convention

January 28

On January 22nd to 24th, the Northeast experienced one of the worst snow blizzards in its history. New Jersey called it, a State of Emergency, but that did not stop dedicated martial artist from attending the annual gathering at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino for the Martial Arts Expo. Mr. Alan Goldberg, called it, “A State of Enormous Success.” Among the attendees at the event were: Benny “The Jet” Urquidez, Don “The Dragon” Wilson, Cynthia Rothrock, Bill “Superfoot” Wallace, Michael Jai White, Michael DePasquale Jr., James Lew, Samuel Kwok, Stephen K. Hayes and dozens of World Renown Martial Arts Instructors. In fact, approximately 800 people were present. The event exemplified martial artist from different styles and backgrounds coming together under one roof as one family. An experience that everyone should have at least once in their lifetime. To my humble surprise and with my students to share the moment, the Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Honors, presented an award for my dedication to the Martial Arts. Although, it is great receiving recognition, it is far more rewarding to see my students coming together as true brothers and sisters, bonding and positively influencing each other toward their maturity on multiple levels. This is the essence of martial arts and this is my passion.
